Artista Creations was founded by Barbara Fumanti Walter after moving to Geneva with her husband and children. Before this she worked at the cutting edge of fashion in Paris where she brought her Italian love of functional style, handed down to her across generations of her family.

Her grandfather, Carlo Alberto Rossi, started the Rossi pottery factory in Gubbio. Pottery is synonymous with this Umbrian city: during the Renaissance, Gubbio was one of the main centers of production of the Italian pottery known as maiolica. Carlo Alberto Rossi continued this tradition, his factory made pottery of exquisite beauty and superb quality. Carlo Alberto Rossi was also a researcher: his innovative experiments with ceramics resulted in a unique technique that combined art and function to produce objects of beauty and practicality. He passed on the factory to his daughter, and it has since remained in the family.

 Barbara began to explore ways to combine her love of stvle and her family traditions.

Thus Artista was born with the aim to reproduce children’s drawings to encourage their creativity and nourish their artistic capacity, to create memorable life long objects to share with friends and family on artistic ceramics beautifully designed, unique, special created by hand by our skilled Italian artisans whose traditions stretch right back to the renaissance.

Wishing to combine the fine craftsmanship of our Umbrian artisans and present day needs Artista has now branched out into different sectors.Through our creative consulting we also help companies and associations to promote their events. Logos trademarks and designs are reproduced onto artefacts which render them truly unforgettable.
